Back in 2002, the activities of Geo Training Studio Sdn Bhd projected today was formerly carried out by a sister company DLanguage STUDIO.
DLanguage STUDIO (DLS) was established as the only Language Center in Langkawi from 2002 – 2009, actively catering for English Communication skills, intended for primary & secondary students, adults, schools and hospitality outlets.
DLS later expanded to 7 courses including English, Malay, French, Japanese, Mandarin, Arabic and Thai. These language programs were actively supported by LADA, under Langkawi Tourism Action Council (LTAC). The program ended in 2009 when LTAC was dissolved by the federal government.
In 2009, DLS expanded its capacity into skills training for hoteliers. DLS was registered under Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran, Kementerian Sumber Manusia as Pusat Latihan SLDN (Sistem Latihan Dual Nasional), purely supported by the government. It is a dual system, whereby a Training Center works together with the Industrial partners. DLS was supported by various hotels around the island as Syarikat SLDN, among which were Tanjung Rhu Resort, The Danna, Rebak Island Resort, Westin, The Lanai, Leena Bakery and others.
Each year from 2009 till 2012, DLS contributed the nation with more than 100 graduates annually under various skills including Kitchen, Pastry, Front Desk and Housekeeping. These apprentices were mostly from Langkawi.
As DLS decided to expand into tourism courses under MOTAC, Geo Training Studio Sdn Bhd was established in 2012 to pursue the needs of City Guide Course. DLS continued hospitality courses till June 2019.
Within 10 years of participation, DLS has proudly trained over 1000 apprentices, with a percentage pass of 80% who achieved SKM 1,2,3 and DKM.
Within 17 years of conducting Language Programs (2002-2019), DLS has trained over 5000 students from hotels and establishments, and private students.
DLS has moved out of Langkawi, and is currently operating at Bandar Baru Nilai. The baton has been passed over to Geo Training STUDIO Langkawi.
